I was watching Kendyll Hillegas’s recent video (you can watch it here), and her story – particularly about her productivity – really resonated. I’m an advocate of practice – wrote a blog post about making time here.
So inspired by her dedication and my desire to improve, I’m sketching 100 trees in the next 30 days.
I’ll post my progress each Wednesday in the Sketchbooking series to check in. To kick this off, I offer 6 trees today.
What I love about this project is that the trees get better as I “warm up.” With each tree I learn a bit more…
This was number 4 – I got totally engrossed drawing the roots. Probably could have taken some of the shadows even darker…
Here I attempted to draw a tree partially covered by snow. I loved drawing this one – not only did I have to think about the mass of the tree underneath the snow, but also the mass of the snow as its own thing.
Would you like to join me?
It doesn’t have to be trees – let’s just draw together for the next 30 days!
