It’ll be March in a few days, and I can’t wait until it’s spring again! In the Northeast we still have a good two months at least to go until winter is truly done. But we’ve been in it since last September, so what’s a couple more months, right?
Spring means being able to draw outside again. Currently, it’s just too cold, but thank goodness for the reference photos I’ve taken over the years. This fuchsia is a study I made to explore my watercolor palette, practice my drawing skills, and well, let me be clear – any opportunity to use the pinks in my palette make me very, very happy!
I’m looking forward to spring – pretty soon there will be a hazy, almost-fuzzy green aura of new leaves on the branches. The lady slippers that grow native here on the island will appear. The forest creatures will leave their hidey-holes and dens. There will be new sights, sounds and scents.
Magic happens in the Spring!
