Moonglow from Daniel Smith Fine Watercolors has become a staple on my palette and a favorite generally. In this video I demonstrate the properties I love the most about it and how I use it most often.
It still continues to surprise me the more I use it. You can read about the specs here. It looks much more purple on the website than it is in real life. On my palette it has completely replaced Payne’s Gray. I use it in mixes all the time – especially to create earthy greens.
Next week I’m using it in my painting of the Great Gray Owl for #The100DayProject, if you’d like to see it used in an actual piece. You can learn more about that and follow along here. And don’t forget to follow me on Instagram to keep up with my daily progress!
